Splashing some cash in River Island

I popped into River Island during the week and loved almost everything in it! Obviously I couldn't afford everything so instead I bought this printed maxi skirt and soft unlined blazer. Okay I actually bought a lot more than that but you'll just have to wait to see the rest. I've worn it with my American Apparel vest, Office sandals and Chanel bag.

O-oh I've copied Olivia Palermo...again

Olivia Palermo wore an outfit similar to this last summer. I became obsessed with it and rushed to French Connection to buy this T-Shirt and skirt. I've teamed it will my River Island nude brogues (she wore silver ones - I'm still looking for a great copy) and my new statement necklace from Accessorize.

Dinner at Gilgamesh

I met up with my cousin Clare for dinner and drinks at Gilgamesh last night. It was fabulous! I wore my ASOS leather shorts, last years Office sandals, my new utility vest from Bikbok, my tuxedo jacket from Topshop and my vintage clutch.

H&M Fashion Against Aids Range

H&M’s Fashion Against Aids range hits stores tomorrow. 25% of the sales goes to Aids Awareness charities and if that isn’t reason enough to splash your cash the fact that the collection is gorgeous should help! H&M gave me a sneak preview and here is one of the sequinned jackets from the collection. It’s fabulous isn’t it?! And it only costs £29.99.

I’m going to my friend’s birthday dinner tonight so I teamed it with my New Look vest, ancient Levis jeans rolled up, my vintage Gina shoes and my much loved vintage clutch.

I Forgot I Had These Trousers

I saw a photo of Olivia Palermo wearing an outfit similar to this so I totally stole her style - she looks way better in it than me though! I forgot I had these Zara hareems so I was chuffed to bits when I found them in my wardrobe. I pushed them up to my calf al la Palermo and teamed them with my River Island brogues, Gap tee and River Island blazer.

I Love Stripy Tops

My boyfriend thinks I live in stripy tops. He should take a look at this blog and realise he is wrong! I do love them though. Alexa Chung once said that if you see her wearing a stripy top it’s because she didn’t know what to wear that morning and today I did the same. My top is Miss Selfridge, the hareem jeans are Bershka and these are my trusty Schuh wedges.

Back in the heat office…

This is me at work. I had been freelancing at More mag all day and popped into the heat office after hours to do some of my heat work. I’m wearing my much loved buckled wedges from Schuh, vintage denim shorts and a new T-Shirt from Bikbok that is super soft!

Bringing back the latex look

This morning I pulled on my Kova & T latex leggings and wondered whether it was still OK to wear them. Well I haven't seen a celeb in a pair in a very long time and I worried they were a bit over. The thing is I like them so I decided to go for it. I strapped on my Jeffrey Campbell glads, found my H&M tee in the ironing basket and finished off with my River Island blazer.

Monday 10 May 2010

My New Maxi

I bought this maxi dress for £35 in Oasis the other day. I've been looking for a black maxi for a couple of weeks and I decided this was the best fit. These are my Jeffrey Campbell studded glads that I got from www.bunnyhug.co.uk a couple of years ago. I added my H&M belt complete with tassells and piled on some black and gold bangles that I found in my jewellery box this morning.

The Other Ben's Birthday Dinner

Last night I went to an Italian restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend's best friend's birthday (he's called Ben to0). I had been working in Leeds all day and had 45 mins to have a shower and get ready. I decided to wear my Topshop thigh high boots, ASOS leather shorts, Topshop denim shirt, River Island animal printed blazer and my Chanel bag. I scrapped my hair up and wrapped it around the donut I bought from Claire's.

Friday 7 May 2010

Sean and Edel's Wedding in Cabra Castle

I flew over to Ireland for my cousin's wedding in Cavan. It was amazing! I wore a white blazer from Topshop, a blue and white embellished mini dress from French Connection, an ASOS feathered clutch that I wore to a wedding last year (they've brought it back into stock) and nude shoes that I bought in Topshop the day before I went. My white embellished headband is from River Island and only cost me £6!

What to wear to Waitrose...

This is me during my month off. My boyfriend came home from work early and I got him to take my photo before I went to Waitrose - oh yes, rock and roll! I'm wearing my ancient tan boots from Topshop, high waisted Topshop jeans, cropped Topshop jumper, Miu Miu bag and Versace shades!

Mixing Prints for Whitney Houston

Sorry it's taken me forever to up date this site but I've had a lot going on. I left heat and went freelance and I'm now heat's Editor at large. I had a month away from the office and no one to take my photo - unless of course I asked my neighbour but that would have been a little embarrassing!

Anyway here I am before I went to see Whitney Houston in concert at The O2. I'm wearing my faithful New Look boots, floral ASOS dungarees and Miss Selfridge top. I decided the dungarees weren't lary enough so mixed my prints!

Sunday 7 March 2010

Richard Nicoll Dungarees

I went to Topshop with heat's Style Editor and News Editor the other week and they bullied me into buying these Richard Nicoll for Topshop dungarees. Well I say bullied but what they really did was say that these dungarees are sooo me and I should definitely get them - so I did! I wore them with a navy and white striped tee that I got from Gap yonks ago and my New look boots.

Tuesday 23 February 2010

Peach Cardigan

I had a major nightmare getting ready this morning. It was another one of those mornings when I pulled everything out of the closet and onto the floor. Really looking forward to facing that when I get home! I ended up wearing my black flat thigh high vintage boots that I had completely forgotten about. My vintage denim shorts, white vest and peach cardi from Topshop.

Monday 22 February 2010

Just another Monday...

It was pouring with rain this morning which is just what you need on a Monday! I decided flat boots was the way to go so I wore my white tasselled vintage boots, Miss Selfridge pale denim dress, Miss Selfridge striped top, my Topshop belt and my Miss Selfridge faux fur coat.

Sunday 21 February 2010

Double Denim

I went to the Topshop and House of Holland shows for London Fashion Week today. I had a really bad hair day so I threw it up on top of my head and decided not to think about it. Instead I focused all my attention on my double denim outfit. It's the first time I have done double denim in years and I must admit I liked it! I wore my New Look boots, old Levis jeans, Topshop denim shirt, Topshop leather jacket and my John Lewis gilet.

Thursday 18 February 2010

New Denim Shirt

I bought a denim shirt in Topshop the other day for £30. I had a whole outfit planned for its first reveal but I couldn't find anything morning. I ended up wearing my new shirt with my grey American Apparel skirt, patent pumps from Russell and Bromley and my Maurie & Eve leather bodice from www.bunnyhug.co.uk I'm worried it might be a bit revealing for the office but there's not much I can do about that now!

The Morning After The Night Before...

The Brits was amazing but wow I'm tired today so I've gone for an easy to do look. A black jersey dress from Topshop, my Russell and Bromley pumps, a gold necklace I found in a drawer and my Topshop coat. Done.

The Brits

It's my first time at The Brits and I'm very excited! My friend Olivia Rubin who designed that zebra print dress made famous by Cheryl Cole has lent me a dress for the night. I have teamed it with my tuxedo jacket from Topshop, my New Look boots and my Mogil clutch from www.bunnyhug.co.uk

Tuesday

It's the day of The Brits and I haven't really thought about what I'm wearing - I'm more interested in what I'm going to wear tonight. I've gone for my black American Apparel body, high waisted Topshop denim shorts, my PPQ for Oli cardigan and my gold studded suede pumps from Russell and Bromley.

Sunday 14 February 2010

Valentine's Dinner

I went for dinner with Ben (my boyfriend) last night to celebrate Valentine's day. I planned on wearing my new harem trousers but then it starting raining and I decided they were too summery. Instead I wore a look inspired by Olivia Palermo which included my high waisted leather shorts from ASOS which are amazing LOVE LOVE LOVE! I teamed them with me black opaque tights, my purple checked pussy bow shirt from H&M, my suede peep toe boots from New Look and my snake skin clutch from Topshop.

Friday 12 February 2010

Vintage Dungarees

I stayed at my mum and dad's again last night and didn't have anything to wear today so at lunchtime yesterday I went to Rokit to pick up some vintage denim shorts. Brilliantly I stumbled across a rail of dungarees! It was weird because I had only just looked at an image of them on the Ralph Lauren catwalk. They cost me £13.50 and I paired them with a cream smock top that I got from French Connection years ago, my Topshop boots, a necklace that I found at mum and dad's and a bangle from Freedom @ Topshop.

Thursday 11 February 2010

No leady no photy

I'm staying at my mum and dad's for a few nights and I don't have my camera lead so I can't put up my posts but don't worry I have been taking pics and will upload them on Friday night.

Thursday

I wanted some inspiration so I watched 90210 and noticed one of the girls wearing a plaid shirt. I decided to wear my green Topshop shirt (that Kylie Minogue has too) teamed with my Kate Moss for Topshop jeans and my battered old Topshop boots. There you have it - I'm unintentionally head to toe in Topshop!

Wednesday 10 February 2010

Wednesday

I wanted to wear my new polka dot crop top with ruffles from New Look today (yes I bought quite a lot there last week but to be fair it only cost £10) so I decided to team it with my high waisted jeans from Topshop as no one wants to see a flash of tummy! It's freezing outside so I layered it with my long oatmeal cardi from Zara and added my statement necklace from New Look. I needed boots with just the right heel for the length of these jeans so went for my battered old Topshop tan boots. The good thing about these boots is the more battered they are the more vintage they look!

Tuesday 9 February 2010

Ditsy Print

I wore my new ditsy print dress with ruffles that I bought from New Look. It taps into two trends so although I'm pretty skint I decided it was worth the £25 that it cost. I wanted to wear it with my black biker boots but thought my legs looked a bit chunky today so teamed it with my tan ankle boots and woven skinny belt from Topshop. I accessorised with bangles from Monsoon that I got as my secret Santa gift from work.

Monday 8 February 2010

Manic Monday

This is me on my way back from a shoot...I look a bit wind swept but it's windy outside! I wanted to wear something comfortable for running around so I wore my Office boots which are really comfy even though they don't look it! My American Apparel joggers and hoodie, a Gap T-Shirt and my Dorothy Perkins necklace that I got as a gift and that's my Luella bag again.

Sunday 7 February 2010

Shoreditch House

I didn't take a photo of my Saturday outfit as I spent most of the day in my dressing gown painting my nails (a lovely taupe shade) and doing all the other stuff you need to do to get ready for a Saturday night out!

I went to dinner with my boyfriend and a couple of friends at Shoreditch House and wore my fabulous snakeskin Fashionista at Kurt Geiger shoes. My harem trousers from Topshop, my vest and necklace that I bought on Friday from the new New Look flagship store on Oxford Street and my vintage bag from Rokit in Covent Garden. Oh and my YSL ring.

Friday 5 February 2010

Yay it's Friday!

I woke up with an urge to wear my blush lace top from H&M this morning. It’s quite old but I like to drag it out of my wardrobe every now and again. I pulled on my pale skinny Topshop jeans with great difficulty – but it's OK because I’m using my just out of the washing machine excuse! I love teaming pastels with pale denim. I wanted to wear heels but couldn’t be bothered to carry them into work and then change out of my flats so I settled for my flat brown suede Office thigh highs. Finally I put on my brown faux fur coat that I bought in a vintage shop in Brighton. It’s size 18 and reminds me of something Pat Butcher might wear but it was only a tenner and feels fabulous! Oh and that's my black patent Luella bag that I bought at a sample sale for £100 - bargainous!

Yesterday's Outfit

I wore this outfit on Christmas day but instead of these Office biker boots I wore my black ski-like boots that you've seen before. My dad didn't like it, mainly because my back was completely exposed but I'm 27 and there wasn't much he could do about it! My tutu is from Miss Selfridge, my velvet leotard is from Topshop and my belt (which I LOVE by the way) is from River Island.

Wednesday 3 February 2010

My wear anywhere dress

I'm staying away tonight, but don't worry it involves a glamorous dinner invite and nothing (too) scandalous. I don’t know about you but I find it difficult to plan two days worth of outfits. So much to co-ordinate! It’s like a military operation which involves me writing a list of things I need to remember to bring including which underwear goes with which outfit and not forgetting the correct accessories. Once I’d planned tomorrow's outfit I didn't have much time to sort out today’s so I pulled out my faithful jersey Topshop dress that only cost £30 (I was well impressed with that as it looks about £100) black M&S tights, black suede ankle boots from Miss Selfridge (much more comfy than heels) and my gold studded H&M belt. Voila!

Tuesday 2 February 2010

Dungarees

I tried out my new dungarees from ASOS today. I already have a dark blue pair but I bought a lighter denim pair which are more skinny. I tucked a white American Apparel tee inside, put my navy long Zara cardi over the top and gave myself some height (to avoid the overgrown toddler look) with my grey suede Pierre Hardy boots from Gap. Oh and I threw my Olivia Rubin scarf around my neck for added colour.

Dusting of snow determines my look

I woke up this morning to a dusting of snow on the ground meaning I had to wear flats to work. I really didn’t want to wear my biker boots that I literally lived in while it was snowing a few weeks ago so I opted for my red converse boots instead. I teamed them with black opaques from M&S (nothing less than 60 denier will do) a grey American Apparel skirt with a lighter grey tee from Gap and my Topshop denim waistcoat. Before I ran out the door to work I added my grey America Apparel hoodie, my Topshop leopard print coat and a black chunky knit scarf from Warehouse. Think I looked a bit mental with all these layers but it kept me warm.

Sunday food shopping with my mum

My mum came to stay for the weekend and we decided to get up early and go to M&S to buy some food for a Sunday roast. I wanted to throw on one of those laid back Sunday "I haven't even tried but still look fabulous" looks but it simply wasn't happening. I literally stood in front of my wardrobe with "NOTHING TO WEAR"! I hate those days, don't you? OK obviously I do have clothes to wear but everything I tried on looked rubbish. After 45 mins of pulling things out of the wardrobe and then throwing them back in I settled on an outfit that I've worn to work loads lately. Normally I feel quite good in it but today I just felt weird as it's not a working day it's the weekend. I went for my ancient baggy Levi jeans that I rolled up and secured with a hidden safety pin in the style of Katie Holmes, Rachel Bilson and Kylie Minogue. I teamed it with a Breton top I got from River Island last year, a long navy cardi from Zara, tan suede ankle boots from Office and my Topshop leopard print coat. Sounds OK on paper but for some reason it just wasn't working for me today!

Ashish Tracksuit

I have a confession to make...I went to Topshop yesterday and spent £160 on a tracksuit. Yeah that's right a TRACKSUIT. I felt so ridiculously guilty handing my card over to pay for it but there was nothing I could do to stop myself. You see it's a tracksuit from the new Ashish range that had literally just hit Topshop and I knew if I didn't buy it there and then it would sell out and I'd regret it forever! I fell in love with this spiky tracksuit a few months ago when I saw Rihanna wearing it. She must have had a sneak preview of the collection because I included her in the "Stars Do High Street" page of heat when I saw her in it way back then. The thing is I thought she was wearing a black version and yesterday I could only find it in charcoal grey. I bought it anyway of course as it's amazing but because Rihanna had the black one I'm thinking maybe I should have held out for that. I've looked on the Topshop website but it's not there either! I've decided to keep this one anyway and hope that I imagined the black one as I know I'll kick myself if it comes into stock later this week. Shopping can be so difficult at times!

WAH Nails

I just had to show you my leopard print nails. I went to the Arcadia press day on Wednesday and got my nails painted by a lovely girl from WAH Nails. She did this free hand in about 15 mins max and I love them!

Check out the site http://www.wah-nails.com/

House of Commons

Last night I stayed at my friend Lucie Cave's house and we stayed up chatting until 1 am drinking too much red wine. We had to get up at 6.15 am to get ready for a Fakebake breakfast at the House of Commons. Yep, that's right we went to the House of Common's for breakfast! Sooo not only was I exhausted and a little bit hung -over I also had to piece together an outfit. I didn't know I was going until the day before and I had only brought a dress down Friday outfit with me...which was a pair of blue skinny jeans, red converse boots and a grey sweatshirt that says "Bronagh" on the front. Clearly this is not a House of Commons outfit. Luckily I had placed a big ASOS order and it arrived just in time. In the end I wore a grey jersey sweatshirt dress from ASOS which taps into the Sports Deluxe SS10 trend, my Office boots that look like snow boots with heels and a pair of black M&S knee socks (2 pairs for £3 - bargain). Not sure it was House of Commons appropriate but I liked it!

My Wonderful Wardrobe

I'm Bronagh heat magazine's stylist. It's my job to dress celebrities for photo shoots but this site is all about dressing me.

In the past I've dressed like a different celebrity everyday. Yeah that's right, like what we tell you to do in heat on the "Steal her style" page. I would literally see a photo of a celeb (usually Rachel Bilson, Kate Moss, Nicole Richie) and copy what they were wearing with a high street equivalent. I even took this a little step further and began researching where they were actually getting their clothes so I could buy the exact same thing! It got to the point where my old boss Mark Frith created a page in heat called "Find it" because he could see there was something in what I was doing and told me I might has well be getting paid for it. I've been in charge of the "Find it" page ever since.

Now a days I've moved away from completely copying their looks (I got a bit older and worried I was a bit sad) so now I take inspiration from my favourite style icons and re-work some of their ideas. Don't get me wrong, if I see Olivia Palermo wearing a wicked outfit then I'm not ashamed to copy it but it's just not as often these days...
